Stand Up Paddleboarding

When you think of Stand Up Paddle Boarding, you probably think ocean or lake. Fair enough, but legend has it the local Indian tribes commonly used stand up paddleboards along the Icicle and Wenatchee rivers. The higher vantage point improved fish spotting. The lighter weight made it easier to transport.

Legend or not, sup'ing on the relatively calm waters of the Wenatchee and Icicle Rivers makes for a great activity. Upstream against the current improves the workout benefit. Downstream with the current encourages near effortless sightseeing.
Der Hinterhof has teamed up with Tube Leavenworth, Inc to offer an all-inclusive introduction to sup'ing. Each day a small group will gather at the Der Hinterhof for a continental breakfast while watching some basic instructional video. Then you meet the instructor and complete a short safety briefing. Then its off to the river for at least an hour and a half of on-water instruction. We guarantee your success! After working up an appetite, we will return to the Der Hinterhof for lunch.
Participants need to be strong swimmers and need to dress appropriate for getting wet. Completely wet! Youngsters are welcome in the company of responsible parents, but must have their own paddle board. Depending on the weather and water conditions, lessons are taught at either Blackbird Island (walking distance) or at the Alps Candy Store (4 miles away). Lifejackets are provided and are mandatory. Booties are provided. Wetsuits are available at an extra cost. A changing room is available at the Der Hinterhof. Valuables should be locked in your car. Your keys will be kept safe. Lessons are taught on extra stable inflatable SUPS.

The all inclusive price for breakfast, lesson and lunch is $115.00 per person plus tax. To check availability and make reservations, please text 509-860-1446 or email stay@adventureinnleavenworth.com with (1) name, (2) date requested (3) shoe size. We will reply shortly to confirm.
